Dual-ended 3M combat earplugs listed in lawsuit have a green/olive side and yellow side. Each color indicated a certain level of noise protection for the wearer. However, the basic function of the earplugs is faulty as they were too short. The earplugs could loosen imperceptibly in the wearer’s ear. Both product shortcomings exposed military personnel to damaging noise levels that contributed to hearing loss and/or tinnitus.
Military personnel that served between 2003 and 2015 and experienced hearing loss AFTER using standard issue 3M Company (3M) combat arms earplugs may have a claim against 3M. If you or a loved one served in the military during this time and suffered hearing loss and/or tinnitus, compensation my be available.
Important Note: We are pursuing lawsuits against 3M ONLY, not the U.S. Government or armed services. If you qualify, you can join with other active military and veterans in asserting your legal rights against 3M.
A July 2018 lawsuit verdict found 3M Company guilty of knowingly selling defective combat arms earplugs (CAEv2) to the United States military without disclosing said earplugs could result in wearers developing hearing loss and/or tinnitus. As a result, the U.S. military received a $9.1 million settlement from 3M.
In an effort to recover compensation on their behalf, attorneys nationwide are collaborating to file Multi-Jurisdictional Lawsuits specific to the individual personal experience and injuries of each service member. Financial compensation could cover medical bills, pain and suffering and other damages resulting from the allegedly defective combat arms earplugs.
